Adult Surf Camp 2025

Expert Coaching, Real Connections.

Built on Progress, Backed by Community.

Learning to surf as an adult can feel intimidatingβ€”but it doesn’t have to be a solo journey. At East End Surf Club, we believe that progress in the ocean comes faster (and feels better) when supported by a group of like-minded individuals with similar goals.

Whether you’re just getting comfortable in the lineup or refining your fundamentals, our program is built to fast-track your growth. How? With the help of expert local instructors, a supportive peer environment, and our renowned surf instruction all taking place in a social setting at one of the best learning beaches in the USA: Ditch Plains Beach, here in Montauk, New York.

So, do you like casual beach hangs, fiery sunsets, balmy bonfires, happy hour margaritas, and afternoon surf sessions?

Then you’ve found your new surf haven.

What it’s all about.

  • Peer Connection.

Surfing is an individual sportβ€”there’s no denying that.

But after a lifetime of pushing our own limits alongside a crew of fiercely competitive yet deeply supportive friendsβ€”and years of coaching everyone from kids at our summer surf camp to clients on curated surf retreatsβ€”we’ve learned something important: the fastest way to improve in the water is by doing it with others who are chasing the same goals.

Our adult surf camp is built for beginner and intermediate surfers who want more than just surf lessonsβ€”they want connection. Here, you’ll find a community of like-minded adults who are ready to challenge themselves, support each other, and share the stoke.

We know making friends as an adult can be tough. That’s why this isn’t just a campβ€”it’s a catalyst for real relationshipsβ€”in and out of the water. Your crew will be made up of people who understand what you’re going through as a surfer and are there to cheer you on every step (and wave) of the way.

    Shared goals mean shared stoke.

We’re not just building skillsβ€”we’re building a tribe of ocean-lovers committed to showing up for themselves and each other, pushing limits, and celebrating progress together.

  • Confidence.

At our adult surf camp, we’re committed to making sure every participant leaves not only feeling like they’ve improvedβ€”but knowing it.

Confidence is the foundation of progression. That’s why we take a personalized approach, working closely with each surfer to address their individual skills, goals, and challenges. Whether you’re learning the basics, refining your technique, or stepping into more advanced territory, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to handle a wide range of conditions and situations in the water.

We’re here to help you grow into a confident, independent surfer for the long term. How? By helping you build lasting friendships and finding a surf crew you can connect with outside of camp to perfect your craft. By understanding that being a good surfer includes being respectful, aware, etiquette focused and supportive in the lineup. By doubling down on surf culture comprehension and giving you the knowledge to make sound/safe decisions when you’re surfing at home or abroad.

Confidence in the ocean comes from knowledge, community, and belief in your abilities. All gained from time spent in the waterβ€”and we’re here to guide you through all of it.

  • Skills.

We’re here to help you growβ€”no matter where you’re starting from. Our experienced local coaches will work with you in a small group setting to identify where you’re at and where you want to go. From mastering the fundamentals to refining your technique or reading the lineup with more confidence, you’ll get personalized guidance and actionable feedback every step of the way.

We want you to see what advanced surfers see and implement that into your every day repertoires as surfers.

Through structured sessions, occasional video analysis, and real-time coaching in the water, we’ll give you the tools, knowledge, and support you need to progress with purposeβ€”and leave the beach a more capable, confident and equipped surfer … all while having fun doing it!

Why Though?

For years, we’ve witnessed the transformation that happens at our kids’ surf camp. Beyond just learning to surf, the groms gain confidence, build friendships, and develop a real connection to the ocean. The structure, consistency, and shared experience fuel their growthβ€”and year after year, it works.

Over time, we started hearing the same thing from adults:

β€œWhy isn’t there something like this for us?”

People weren’t just jokingβ€”they were genuinely craving the same kind of support, coaching, and community, but built for adults.

So we decided to create it.

We saw a gap between casual group lessons and pricier private coachingβ€”especially for adults who already have some surf experience and are looking to level up. Our adult surf camp bridges that gap. It offers structured, progression-based coaching in a fun, inclusive environment. You’ll get less one-on-one attention than in a private lesson, sureβ€”but far more time in the water, ongoing feedback, and collective energy to fuel your progression.

We also wanted to make surf coaching more accessible and affordableβ€”something you could come back to throughout your surf journey, not just as a one-time splurge.

This isn’t just about improving your technique. It’s about building your confidence, finding your surf crew, and creating a space where adults can experience the same growth, camaraderie, and stoke we see every summer with the kids.

Because learning to surf shouldn’t stop at 13β€”and making friends in the water shouldn’t feel impossible.
